My work consists of observational and imaginative paintings . Working from observation allows me to experience what I see, whereas working from imagination allows the paint and instinctive marks surprise me. Both ways of working allow me to explore new questions that arise throughout the process. My process changes each time I work. I am hoping to find something new about my visual experience or about paint itself.

Brooke McVeigh was born in New Jersey in 1999. She attends the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and is on track to graduate with a BFA in the spring of 2023. She has also attended the Mount Gretna School of Art for a Bubble Residency in the fall of 2020, and a Summer Intensive Program in 2021. She has exhibited in group shows in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
